Founded by Limerick actor and producer Liam O'Brien in 2016, The Director's Chair is delighted to now provide a one stop shop for creative talent in Limerick.
As our film industry takes a leap forward with the arrival of Troy Studios and the city's first Digital Training Hub, we look forward to being part of Limerick's vision for its future as identified in the 2030 Spatial and Economic Plan. We wish to complement the existing structures in place by providing a new creative solution to resourcing local actors for incoming productions.
Managing Director Liam O'Brien has been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years - filming his first drama with RTE in 1995. As well as a two decade career that's spanned film, television and theatre across the world - he also founded Limerick's professional theatre company Bottom Dog in 2008. He has produced all of their shows to date including extensive national and international tours which have been nominated for several awards - winning recently in New York for his production of Language UnBecoming A Lady.
He is a founder member of the Irish Film and Television Academy and has worked both as a director and producer for the last decade.
